The individual will be responsible as a buyer of raw materials and production component parts for manufacturing and assembly, as well as equipment and capital assets. This individual must have familiarity with MRP, contract negotiation, contract terminology, analytical skills in cost reduction processes, supplier evaluation and be familiar with current manufacturing concepts, procedures and logistics. Prior experience with SAP is beneficial.
Initiate requests for quotations for purchased parts/components to optimize cost savings
Purchase and maintain inventory of parts/components at all manufacturing facilities, as well as associated tooling & manufacturing costs to produce parts and components
Material planning and forecasting of production components to facilitate JIT delivery
Maintaining all supplier selection and performance evaluations, including site visitation
Communication with plan production and quality personnel regarding parts/components issues including production and quality meeting by location
Ability to work with excel in financial analysis of cost analyzer
All aspects of Supply Chain management
All other duties as directed
Self starter with great organization skills and ability to multi-task
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information.
Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and time management skills.
Must have efficient skills in MS word, MS Excel, Lotus Notes (plus)
0-3 Years buying experience is preferred
Prior experience with SAP is beneficial
4-year college degree in Supply Chain Management or General Business Administration
