Typical House Piping System/Appliances

1,600 square foot home uses approximately 250’ CSST gas pipe.

Gas appliances:

    1. Gas furnace
    2. Gas water heater
    3. Gas dryer
    4. Gas range

Two examples of 2‑psi piping system configurations:

  1. Run 2psi to each appliance using ½” CSST pipe and install a 325–3L regulator directly in front of each appliance to reduce gas pressure to 7” or 8” w.c.

Approximate costs:
325–3L Gas Pressure Regulators: 4 x $30.00 = $120.00
250’ ½” CSST:  $1.60 per ft. x 250’ = $400.00
Total: $520.00 *

  1. Use one 325–5L regulator after the meter to reduce gas pressure to 7” or 8” w.c. and use ¾” CSST pipe to each appliance.

Approximate costs:
325–5L Gas Pressure Regulator: 1 x $100.00 = $100.00
250’ ¾” CSST: $2.60 per ft. x 250’ = $650.00
Total: $750.00 *

Example Material Cost Savings:  $230.00
