The GV60’s On-Demand Ignition (ODI) system and its thermocouple circuit flame supervision have a long history of proven dependability and durability while operating in harsh environments. The ODI system runs through a comprehensive series of safety checks before initiating ignition, and the system’s thermocouple circuit is far less susceptible to flame outages from events such as fluctuation in gas pressure, flue draft, and contamination of flame sensors.
Additionally, the ODI/thermocouple system is known for being low maintenance. This is in stark contrast to flame rectification systems. These systems are notorious for their extreme sensitivity to changes in gas pressure, flue draft, and corrosion or contamination of electrical and metal components. All of these conditions often lead to nuisance shutoffs and, ultimately, service calls.
Also, flame rectification systems require 100% mains power for operation, while the GV60 ODI system’s operation options include manual and battery power as well as mains power. We find that most users favor the ODI system because it is more environmentally friendly and has a lower installation cost than the flame rectification systems.
