Accounts Payable Clerk

The Accounts Payable Clerk will perform accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions. This position reports directly to the Controller.

Responsibilities:

The position of the Accounts Payable Clerk will assist and support the Finance Department. The responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Organize and manage the data entry of invoices in SAP.
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
  • Obtain proper approvals for invoice payments.
  • Review and verify invoice and check requests.
  • Sort, code, and match invoices.
  • Track expenses in Excel spreadsheets.
  • Process expense reports and credit card statements in accordance with company policies.
  • Prepare and process electronic transfer payments.
  • Prepare and perform check runs.
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions.
  • Monitor and manage accounts to ensure payments are up to date and keep the aging report current.
  • Maintain and update company vendor files.
  • Create management reports and analysis of data.
  • All other duties as directed.

Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of accounts payable and general accounting processes.
  • Working knowledge of relevant accounting software, including SAP and ADP, is preferred.
  • 1–3 years accounts payable or general accounting experience.
  • Must have strong communication skills, ability to prioritize tasks, and manage time appropriately.
  • Must have strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
  • 2 or 4 year degree in Accounting or Finance related field is required.

OEM Salesperson

The OEM Salesperson candidate will have the opportunity to manage an established territory with OEM customers across a diverse set of industries including Commercial Cooking, Infrared Heating, and Commercial/Industrial Rooftop Heaters. This position requires an individual capable of working independently and should possess a technical aptitude to quickly become knowledgable of the company product line. The position will be based out of our Southfield, MI headquarters.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain relationships with established OEM customer base.
  • Lead important sales initiatives such as new product launches.
  • Gather, track, and present competitive market data and market conditions and trends.
  • Assist customers in resolution of commercial and technical issues.
  • Identify and recommend new opportunities for application of Maxitrol products with both existing and new customers.
  • Participate in regular meetings and presentations to company leadership.
  • Attend national and regional trade shows to promote Maxitrol products.
  • Work with engineering and research & development departments on the development of new innovations and enhancements of current products.

Qualifications:

  • Educational requirement is a bachelor's degree OR associate degree in HVAC, or other related technical field of study, plus two of more years of experience.
  • Some sales experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, written, and verbal.
  • Willingness to travel as need to support sales territory.
  • Should be a self-starter capable of working independently and have excellent time management skills.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, natural gas industry and/or other wholesale distribution markets is a plus.
  • Must have computer skills in MS Office.
  • Experience using Lotus Notes is a plus.

Facilities Maintenance

The Facilities Assistant will be responsible for general maintenance required for the upkeep of the Maxitrol Company facilities, as directed by the Facilities Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • General Maintenance activities including painting, plumbing, general repair, cleaning, grounds keeping, etc.
  • Responsible for assisting with all aspects of building maintenance and upkeep.
  • Work on projects including renovation, repair, and large landscaping projects.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with facilities maintenance required.
  • Ability to read drawings and blueprints.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, ability to face challenging situations, view from a variety of different angles; assess the strengths and weaknesses of options, select and implement the best solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving ability, ability to make effective decisions on a timely basis.
  • Competency in MS Office.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.

Physical Demands:

  • The person in this position must have manual dexterity such as the ability to perform intricate finger, hand, wrist, and arm movements without risk of injury to self or others. This includes the ability to feel, twist, handle and manipulate small objects, tools, and controls.
  • Postition requires regular use of machines and equipment such as tractors, Hi-low, snow plows, and various power tools such as drills, screw guns, etc.
  • Position requires regular use of nonpower tools including shovels, rakes, carts, dollies, and various hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, hammers, etc.
  • Position requires regular exposure to heights, including work onf the roof and in rafters and utilizing ladders.
  • Position may require occasional electrical work and work with gas mechanical systems and/or plumbing systems.
  • Position requires the ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • The person in this position will frequently be required to walk, reach with hands and arms, sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 5 to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Possibly lift more than 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Good eyesight, including close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus is required.

Work Environment:

  • The maintenance person will work in indoor and outdoor environments that may or may not fluctuate with the external weather conditions.
  • While performing the required duties of this job, the employee will regularly be exposed to vibration, moving mechanical parts, loud noise levels, and inclement weather conditions.

Education:

  • High School Diploma and some College Coursework preferred.

Building Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician should be a mechanically inclined, hands-on individual who will provide assistance in an array of responsibilities including clerical work and repair/maintenance duties. The appropriate candidate will be comfortable in a shop environment as well as in an office environment. This position is based in the Southfield, MI headquarters and will report to the Facilities Manager.

Responsibilities :

The position of Maintenance Technician will assist and support various areas throughout the company facilities. The responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Help oversee and manage day-to-day operations of the building and facilities.
  • Assist in handling building repairs or supervising or working with a contractor based on hte work to be performed.
  • Conduct and maintain building inventories.
  • Help schedule repairs and maintainence of the building and/or grounds.
  • Shipping and receiving duties.
  • Sometimes required to work outdoors and in inclement weather.
  • Help identify contractors/vendors for building solutions.
  • All other duties as directed.

Qualifications :

The position of Maintenance Technician requires knowledge and experience in the following areas:

  • Prior facilities maintenance.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Electrical, HVAC, and Plumbing Systems, and troubleshooting.
  • Must be mechanically inclined.
  • Ability to read prints.
  • OSHA/Safety prevention knowledge required.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Must be able to work independently and as a part of a team.
  • Ability to occasionally work on the weekend/holiday as needed.

Education:

  • Requires technical or vocational training.
  • Training in OSHA regulations preferred.

Equipment Engineer

The Equipment Engineer provides assistance in manufacturing and assembly process development. This position requires a hands-on individual who is comfortable on the production floor as well as in an office environment. The position will be based in our Southfield, MI headquarters.

Responsibilities :

The position of Manufacturing Equipment Engineer will assist and support various areas of productions, tooling, and engineering. The responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Work with multiple departments to evaluate, design, and develop new equipment.
  • Support equipment through installation, start-up, and continuous improvement.
  • Validate and approve new equipment before handing off to production.
  • Perform tolerance analysis to verify design feasibility.
  • Monitor equipment performance and suggest improvements.
  • Maintain documentation for equipment installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures for reference purposes.
  • Develop cost-reduction initiatives while still maintaining quality and productivity.
  • Provide job assistance and conduct job trainings for employees as needed.
  • Act as primary contact for equipments performance related questions or concerns.
  • Assist in maintaining manufacturing process development (control plans, work instructions, process flows, assembly instructions, etc.) Perform other testing and evaluation projects as directed.
  • All other duties as directed.

Qualifications :

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in industrial, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering.
  • 1-2 years equipment design knowledge and implementation.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Exhibit a strong team player focus.
  • Excellent computer skills (including, but not limited to: SolidWorks, AUTOCAD, MS Office, Visio, etc.).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are important as work with staff at various levels is required.
  • Working knowledge of standard quality tools such as 5S, Kaizen, and Lean manufacturing principals.
  • Must be able to work independently, and proactively.
  • Some travel is required.

Electrical Engineering Technician

The Electrical Engineering Technician will assume design ownership and support of Maxitrol Company electrical products components and assemblies. This position requires a wide range of Engineering experience with electrical components, reviewing and validating that the components meet industry regulatory standards and coordinating with other team members in Purchasing, Engineering and Production that the products/component’s meet the specifications. The position will be based in our Southfield, MI headquarters reporting to the Engineering Supervisor.

Responsibilities :

  • Working knowledge of analog and digital circuits.
  • Design or modify engineering schematics for products using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • Diagnose, test, or analyze the performance of electrical components, assemblies, or systems.
  • Set up and operate standard or specialized production and testing equipment.
  • Assist other departments with technical requirements.

Qualifications :

  • Requires a Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technician or related technical discipline.
  • 5 years Electrical experience in a Medium or High Volume Production Operation.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Must have working experience with MSOffice, Altium Designer, or other electronic design software.
  • Experience with Thru-Hole, Wave Flow, Surface mount, Reflow equipment and other related equipment required.

R & D Electrical Intern

The R&D Electrical Intern will aid in design, development and qualification of all Electrical/Electronic control products for Maxitrol Company. This position offers a wide range of experience with Analog and Digital circuit design as well as electro-mechanical sensing and interface. This position will be work in developing product designs, which meet both regulatory standards as well as business cost and market objectives. The position will be based in our Southfield, MI headquarters reporting to the Director of R&D.

Responsibilities :

  • Design, Develop, and Test new products to support both existing and expansion target markets.
  • Test, analyze, and evaluate components and materials for new products.
  • Define and establish manufacturing test specifications.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all industry standards and specifications that apply to assigned product families.
  • Effectively communicate technical material to a non-technical audience.

Qualifications :

  • Working toward a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Must understand technical principles, theories and concepts in electronic design.
  • Strong knowledge of debugging tools and techniques.
  • Familiarity with circuit analysis and simulation tools.
  • Prefer experience with microprocessor programming utilizing embedded C and Assembly language coding.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and time management skills.
  • Must be experienced with using MSOffice.
