Electrical Engineering Technician

Electrical Engineering Technician requires the skills to perform the following duties:

The Electrical Engineering Technician will assume design ownership and support of Maxitrol Company electrical products components and assemblies. This position requires a wide range of Engineering experience with electrical components, reviewing and validating that the components meet industry regulatory standards and coordinating with other team members in Purchasing, Engineering and Production that the products/component’s meet the specifications. The position will be based in our Southfield, MI headquarters reporting to the Engineering Supervisor.

Responsibilities :

  • Working knowledge of analog and digital circuits.
  • Design or modify engineering schematics for products using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • Diagnose, test, or analyze the performance of electrical components, assemblies, or systems.
  • Set up and operate standard or specialized production and testing equipment.
  • Assist other departments with technical requirements.

Qualifications :

  • Requires a Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technician or related technical discipline.
  • 5 years Electrical experience in a Medium or High Volume Production Operation.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Must have working experience with MSOffice, Altium Designer, or other electronic design software.
  • Experience with Thru-Hole, Wave Flow, Surface mount, Reflow equipment and other related equipment required.

Distribution Salesperson

The prospective representative candidate will be assigned a territory responsible for all sales functions including but not limited to the maintenance and development of existing customer accounts as well as the development of new customer business. This position requires an individual with a technical aptitude who will become comfortable with the company product line. This individual will work with customers on commercial issues and coordinate the customers’ technical needs with engineering support. The position will be based out of our Southfield, MI headquarters.

Responsibilities :

  • Maintain and improve sales volume with your established Wholesale Distribution customer base and develop new customer prospects.
  • Manage monthly contact with your customer list to address commercial issues as required.
  • Maintain and initiate required internal communication with Maxitrol staff on behalf of the customer as commercial and technical issues arise.
  • Identify, prioritize, and nurture new relationships between prospective Corporate Target Markets and accounts.
  • Communicate and report on market conditions, monitor competitor business activities and identifying areas of expansion with current customers.
  • Periodically report on customer accounts on sales trends and technical requirements.
  • Deliver on site product training to customers.
  • Attend various trade shows to represent Maxitrol Company and our products.

Qualifications :

  • Experience obtaining and documenting product specifications.
  • Ability to identify, qualify and recognize commercial opportunities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.
  • Travel is required.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, Natural Gas Industry and/or other Wholesale Distribution markets a plus.
  • Employee must be able to travel weekly by automobile or airplane which often includes overnight travel.

R & D Electrical Intern

The R&D Electrical Intern will aid in design, development and qualification of all Electrical/Electronic control products for Maxitrol Company. This position offers a wide range of experience with Analog and Digital circuit design as well as electro-mechanical sensing and interface. This position will be work in developing product designs, which meet both regulatory standards as well as business cost and market objectives. The position will be based in our Southfield, MI headquarters reporting to the Director of R&D.

Responsibilities :

  • Design, Develop, and Test new products to support both existing and expansion target markets.
  • Test, analyze, and evaluate components and materials for new products.
  • Define and establish manufacturing test specifications.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all industry standards and specifications that apply to assigned product families.
  • Effectively communicate technical material to a non-technical audience.

Qualifications :

  • Working toward a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Must understand technical principles, theories and concepts in electronic design.
  • Strong knowledge of debugging tools and techniques.
  • Familiarity with circuit analysis and simulation tools.
  • Prefer experience with microprocessor programming utilizing embedded C and Assembly language coding.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and time management skills.
  • Must be experienced with using MSOffice.

Product Engineer - Electrical

The Electrical Engineer will assume design ownership and support of all assigned Maxitrol Company products. This position requires a wide range of experience with circuit boards, assembly processes, control products as well as knowledge of automation controls and equipment. This position will be responsible for maintaining product designs which meet both regulatory standards as well as business cost and market objectives. The position will be based in our Southfield, MI headquarters reporting to the Chief Engineer.

Responsibilities :

  • Support existing product. Analyze design change request and incorporate these changes into existing products.
  • Provide application support.
  • Define and establish manufacturing and test specifications.
  • Develop and Design test equipment.
  • Support existing electrical equipment.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all industry standards and specifications that apply to assigned product families.
  • Support all Manufacturing including automation controls and equipment.
  • Manage the transition of new products into production.

Qualifications :

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Experience in Product Engineering in a Production Environment.
  • Working knowledge of Automatic Insertions equipment, Surface Mount equipment and Automated Visual Inspection equipment.
  • Must understand technical principles, theories and concepts in electronic design.
  • Strong knowledge of debugging tools and techniques.
  • Familiarity with circuit analysis and simulation tools.
  • Must have experience with microprocessor programming utilizing embedded C and Assembly language coding.
  • 3-5 years Engineering experience.
  • Must be experienced with using MSOffice, Lotus Notes, Altium Designer or equivalent.
  • Must be hands on and able to work with all levels throughout the organization.
  • Must be able to work independently and proactively.
  • Exhibit a strong team player focus.
  • Some travel required.
